Storms were rolling through all day (not just this day, but for much of the whole month long trip!), and between the dramatic skies and brilliant breaks between the storms, it was a good day for photography. This is the first time I took the time to patiently wait to capture a lightning strike. Pulled over on the side of the road, set up at a painful angle shooting out the window back at the storm... And I got my first bolt.
