Breaking the Rules — Photo Tips — National Geographic

I like some of these shots better than others, but some interesting ideas.

A lot of these techniques I am forced to deal with, more than fully embracing, because I do not usually have a lot of control about when I am shooting and, with my cheap, little camera, I do not always have a lot of control over the shots themselves ("tricking" my camera into focusing properly, getting the exposure right in the proper part of the frame, etc)... Sometimes I get happy accidents, usually I get frustration. But, with patience, I usually get something I like.
